Why We Pay Too Much For Our Prescriptions

Prices for prescription drugs vary widely between pharmacies. U.S. drug prices are neither fixed nor regulated. The cost of a prescription may differ by more than $100 between two pharmacies across the street from each other!
If you're uninsured, it's easy to get a better price. While prices for most drugs at pharmacies are very high for the uninsured patient, you may be able to save 85% or more using our free prescription savings card.
If you have insurance, your co-pay might not be the best price. Hundreds of generic medications are available for $4 or even free without insurance. Your $10 co-pay doesn't sound so great when you can get the same drug for 60% less with FreeRxPlus. Plus, many plans have high deductibles or limited formularies that don't cover the drugs you need.
While the price of drugs is decreasing, you're paying more. When brand-name drugs like Lipitor, Lexapro and Singulair go generic, their price drops from hundreds of dollars to as little as $4. But insurance companies are pushing more of the cost of drugs (25-80% more than 10 years ago) onto patients.

FreeRxPlus Benefits Everyone

  • Uninsured- Those with no prescription benefits coverage
  • Underinsured- Those with high deductibles, limitations or exclusions
  • Insured- Anyone with prescription coverage with a generic copay of $10.00 or greater

Testimonials

  • We were at WalMart this morning to pick up a prescription. The doctor told him it would be $4; but it was $48! We remembered that we had the Prescription Savings Card and asked if we could use it. They said yes and the prescription only cost us $23 for a 3 month supply. How great was that!.

  • I printed a card off the website and put it in my purse. I went to the local grocery store and ran into a friend who was there to fill a couple of prescriptions. I gave her the paper card I printed and told her to have the pharmacist check the price with the card and compare it to what she would normally pay. She saved $46.00 on two prescriptions that day

  • I took my dog to the vet for his annual checkup, and the vet prescribed him 42 tablets of Cephalexin 500mg, 21 tablets of Enalapril 5mg, and 60 tablets of Levothyroxine 25mcg. The vet charged $32.58 for the Cephalexin, $23.76 for the Enalapril, and $68.72 for the Levothyroxine. With my discount card, I paid $10.58 for the Cephalexin (a savings of $22), $12.54 for the Enalapril (a savings of $11.22), and $12.44 for the Levothyroxine (a savings of $56.28). I saved $89.50 total! Finally, when I went to the doctor, I was prescribed Bactrim DS 800-160. My insurance didn't cover it, and I would've had to pay $76.28 for the generic, but with my discount card, I paid $11.26, saving me $65
